Jackie has developed specific expertise with moderate white women, leading innovative work informed by data science, behavioral psychology, and neuroscience to engage this audience to stand up for our democracy and each other. She has been named one of the Top 50 Women Leaders of Washington, is a trustee of the Patsy Takemoto Mink Foundation, and on the advisory committee of the Rural Democracy Initiative.

Jackie’s career as a lawyer, policy advocate, and executive leader spans three decades of work to advance gender, racial, and economic justice. In 2016, she became increasingly alarmed by the rise in authoritarianism and threat to democracy in the US, and felt called to understand and connect with women in the ideologically-moderate middle as a powerful force for change. After months of learning and deep listening, Jackie launched Galvanize USA in 2018 (501c3) to create a supportive space for women to come together and engage in real talk about the things that matter most and Galvanize Action in 2019 (501c4) to deepen understanding of this audience and support them to align their values with their civic behavior and vote choice.

Prior to founding Galvanize USA and Galvanize Action, Jackie designed and ran a national movement-building project focused on ending violence against girls and women for the NoVo Foundation. She championed reproductive justice as the Director of Government Relations for Planned Parenthood Federation of America and economic justice as a Legal Aid lawyer and as Policy Attorney for the NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund. Jackie received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan. She is a mother of two and a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States.
